BREAKING: Multiple Explosions Rock El Cajon—Authorities Confirm Possible Sabotage, City on High Alert…

EL CAJON, CA — In a terrifying development that has left residents stunned and emergency crews scrambling, a series of powerful explosions erupted across several blocks of El Cajon early Thursday morning, triggering widespread panic, blackouts, and unconfirmed reports of injuries and missing persons.

The blasts, which occurred just after 4:00 a.m., ripped through parts of the downtown district, leveling at least two buildings and causing structural damage to several others within a half-mile radius. Witnesses described hearing “a thunderous boom” followed by the sound of windows shattering and car alarms screaming in the distance.

Firefighters and police flooded the area within minutes, only to encounter what authorities are now calling “a highly suspicious and potentially coordinated event.” Preliminary findings point to the possibility of sabotage or an intentional act, although officials have not publicly identified a suspect or group behind the destruction.

“We are treating this as an active investigation with the highest level of urgency,” said Police Chief Raymond Torres. “This was not a gas leak. We are looking at multiple ignition points. This may have been deliberate.”

Residents within a two-mile radius have been urged to evacuate as a precaution, and several schools, businesses, and government offices will remain closed until further notice. The city has activated its emergency operations center, and the FBI and ATF have joined the investigation.

Hospitals in the area have confirmed at least 12 injuries so far, some critical, and emergency crews continue to search through rubble for possible victims. Several families have been displaced, and shelters are being opened at community centers and local schools.

Local leaders have called the situation “unprecedented” and “deeply alarming,” with Mayor Karen Parks stating, “El Cajon has never seen anything like this. We will get answers—and justice—for our city.”

Authorities are expected to provide a full press briefing later today. In the meantime, residents are urged to stay clear of affected areas and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
