Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph has become one of the most talked-about players of the team’s offseason, using social media to respond directly to widespread speculation surrounding his health ahead of training camp.
Questions about Joseph’s recovery have circulated throughout the spring after he dealt with a knee injury last season. With limited official updates available, fans and analysts have closely monitored every development regarding the Pro Bowl safety’s status.
Head coach Dan Campbell previously acknowledged uncertainty surrounding Joseph’s availability, explaining that the organisation was taking a cautious approach with his rehabilitation to ensure he was fully prepared before returning to action.

Speculation intensified when many observers predicted Joseph would begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. However, the defensive standout appeared to dismiss those expectations earlier in the week, posting on social media, “How much yall wanna bet im not on there.”
When the Lions officially announced their PUP list and Joseph’s name was absent, many fans were left surprised, with reactions ranging from confusion to optimism about his potential readiness for the upcoming season.
Joseph has since embraced the online conversation, responding to fans with playful remarks while suggesting he had been paying close attention to the discussion surrounding his health. In one post, he wrote, “Yessir I sit back n observe the whole room I see yall talking,” before jokingly asking why those who predicted he would land on the PUP list had not actually placed a wager.
The former third-round pick also reassured concerned supporters, telling one fan they were worrying more than he was about his knee. With veterans scheduled to report to training camp on July 28 and the Lions’ first practice set for July 29 at the team’s Allen Park Performance Center, all eyes will now be on Joseph as Detroit prepares for the 2026 NFL season.
