Following his announcement, Georges revealed that Tennessee’s family atmosphere and the genuine relationships built throughout his recruitment ultimately separated the Volunteers from the competition.
Speaking with 247Sports’ Tom Loy, Georges said Tennessee immediately felt like home.
“They really made me feel like home. Being around those people and talking with the strength and conditioning coach, I just felt it would be a great place for me and a great fit.”
The elite Chattanooga Baylor standout also praised head coach Josh Heupel for making him feel like a priority throughout the recruiting process.
“He made it clear that he really wanted me on the team and wanted to use me as a weapon. I think that was really the most I’d seen, and it was really great.”
While Heupel’s vision played a significant role, Georges credited Tennessee running backs coach De’Rail Sims for providing the personal support that ultimately became a deciding factor.
A native French speaker from Canada, Georges explained that Sims went above and beyond to help him navigate English during meetings and campus visits, ensuring language was never a barrier in building their relationship.
“English is my second language. During those meetings and while we were on the field, he showed me ways I could learn and communicate better. If I didn’t understand something, he would help explain it and make sure I could learn from him.”
The gesture left a lasting impression on Georges and his family, highlighting the level of care Tennessee’s coaching staff invested throughout his recruitment.
Although NIL opportunities and on-field development remain major factors in today’s recruiting landscape, Georges’ decision illustrates how personal connections and genuine support can still make the difference.
Tennessee ultimately prevailed over powerhouse programs by demonstrating not only how Georges would fit into its offense, but also how the coaching staff would support him beyond football—an approach that helped the Volunteers secure one of the nation’s top running back prospects for the 2027 class.
