Yankees to officially sign Reds Pitcher

Yankees firmarán oficialmente al lanzador de los Rojos

If the New York Yankees aim to strengthen their playoff prospects, enhancing their bullpen would be a significant boost. The Yankees have already considered this strategy and are interested in the Cincinnati Reds’ relievers for a potential trade.

According to Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated, New York has been “persistently pursuing” various Cincinnati relief pitchers as the trade deadline approaches. In response, the Reds have sent scouts to observe the Yankees during their series against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Although no specific players have been mentioned as targets for New York, it is evident that the Reds possess the bullpen talent the Yankees are seeking. By scouting potential trade candidates, Cincinnati appears open to a possible deal.

Despite having promising prospects, the Reds’ 45-49 record places them nine games behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. However, they are only three games out of a Wild Card spot, which might influence their decision to avoid selling off key players in pursuit of a playoff berth.

The Reds don’t necessarily need a fire sale to make a trade. By adjusting their bullpen roster, they could enhance both their immediate and long-term prospects. By scouting in Tampa Bay, Cincinnati might be looking for major league talent in return. Given that they are not securely in a playoff position, the Reds recognize the need for changes.

Regardless of Cincinnati’s direction, the Yankees are interested in their offerings. New York’s bullpen ranks eighth in ERA at 3.55. However, with the team two games behind the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East, despite their 56-39 record, the Yankees are prepared to bolster their bullpen further.
