WVU Men’s Basketball Coach Darian DeVries Focused on Winning Final Stretch of Regular Season…

Morgantown, WV – With only four games remaining in the regular season, West Virginia University men’s basketball head coach Darian DeVries is keeping his team’s focus simple: “Let’s just go win.”

The Mountaineers (16-11, 7-9 Big 12) are still in contention for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, thanks in part to their top-10 wins earlier in the season. DeVries is reminding his team that every game from here on out is crucial.

“Our only communication with our team is we’re playing for something right now,” DeVries said during a video conference with reporters on Monday. “We’ve just got to continue to do our part and know that these are meaningful games and find ways to continue to try to put some wins up there.”

ESPN bracket expert Joe Lunardi currently has WVU in the “last four byes” category in his latest bracket projection. DeVries believes his team has a strong tournament resume, but knows they must keep winning to secure their spot.

“I believe we have a tournament team. I think we have a tournament resume that stands up really well, but we’ve got to just continue to play and finish this season off,” DeVries said.

The Mountaineers will face TCU on Tuesday in their next matchup, followed by two home games and one road game to close out the regular season.
