Nashville SC officially confirms Stars trade to Qatar League

One of Major League Soccer’s biggest stars, Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar, is reportedly attracting interest from the Qatar Stars League.

Mukhtar, who has netted 13 goals in 22 games this season, has been offered a potentially lucrative transfer to the Middle East this summer. As Nashville’s captain, Mukhtar has become one of the league’s most formidable players since arriving in the United States, catching the eye of clubs worldwide.

Mukhtar the Marksman

Mukhtar, the reigning Golden Boot winner in Major League Soccer, had played in several countries before finding a home with Nashville SC. He had a standout 2021 season, scoring 16 goals to help Nashville secure a third-place finish in the Eastern Conference. He followed that with 23 goals last season and has already tallied 13 goals and seven assists in 2023.

Hany Happy to Stay

Despite the reportedly “lucrative” offers made to both player and club, it seems unlikely that Mukhtar will be leaving Nashville anytime soon. At 28, Mukhtar could easily capitalize on his MLS success by moving to Qatar and earning millions. However, the Berlin native reportedly has little interest in leaving Nashville as the team aims to make a serious run for the MLS Cup.

Nashville currently sits second in the Eastern Conference, seven points behind FC Cincinnati for the best record in Major League Soccer.
