Several of the Premier League’s top clubs are seeking a striker this summer.
Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all in the market for new center-forwards during this transfer window. With so many major teams vying for players in the same position, competition is inevitable. One player drawing significant interest is Jonathan David.
The Lille star is reportedly on the radar of several top Premier League clubs. Ben Jacobs provided an update on David’s situation during an appearance on Playback. He noted that Tottenham and Chelsea are closely monitoring the situation, suggesting that a move to either London club is more probable than to Manchester United, due to the anticipated arrival of Joshua Zirkzee at Old Trafford.
Jacobs stated, “Jonathan David is available for around £25m, which is considered a bargain in the market. West Ham is focusing on Jhon Duran. Chelsea and Tottenham are the clubs to watch, and it’s less likely that Manchester United will pursue David because of Joshua Zirkzee.”
Despite Manchester United’s diminished interest, signing David will still be challenging for Tottenham. Chelsea remains a contender, and other teams may join the race, especially after a strong Copa America performance from David.
With Harry Kane’s departure last summer, Tottenham needs a striker, and David could be a suitable replacement for the England captain. Jonathan David is a key player to watch in this summer transfer window.
