BYU Flips Four-Star Pula Twins From Rival Utah on Signing Day…

BYU delivered a major signing-day victory over rival Utah on Friday, landing four-star twins Jaron Pula and Kennan Pula after both prospects had been committed to the Utes since the summer. The late flip represents one of the most significant recruiting swings of the cycle for the Cougars, particularly given the in-state rivalry implications.

The Pula twins chose BYU despite holding offers from several national programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UCLA, Washington, Wisconsin, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. Their decision adds elite talent on both sides of the ball for head coach Kalani Sitake and his staff.

Jaron Pula projects as a high-upside wide receiver with a college-ready frame at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds. He combines physicality with athleticism, allowing him to win contested catches, operate effectively in traffic, and threaten defenses vertically. His smooth movement and long-striding speed make him a versatile offensive weapon capable of stretching the field or serving as a reliable possession target.

Jaron is also an advanced route runner for his age and shows a strong willingness to block in the run game, traits that could help him compete for early playing time in a deep BYU wide receiver room. His overall skill set gives him the potential to develop into a primary option in the Cougars’ passing attack.

Kennan Pula brings similar size and athleticism, with his highest upside projecting at safety. Known for his physicality and elite ball skills, Kennan has drawn attention for his playmaking ability in the secondary, including a viral interception during the state playoffs. His instincts and range could make him one of BYU’s most impactful defensive signees of the Sitake era.

Together, the Pula twins represent a major recruiting win for BYU and a statement result against its longtime rival, reinforcing the Cougars’ growing momentum on the recruiting trail.
