Detroit Lions Provide Key Injury Updates Ahead of Cowboys Matchup…

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell briefed the media Sunday with several important injury updates as the team prepares for its upcoming Thursday night showdown against the Dallas Cowboys. With the Lions facing another condensed week, player availability has become a major storyline entering a pivotal late-season stretch.

Campbell offered significant clarity on the status of safety Kerby Joseph, who has been out of action since Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Joseph is recovering from what Campbell described as a bone bruise combined with general “wear and tear,” an injury that has required extended time to rebuild knee strength and stability.

The Lions coach acknowledged that Joseph’s condition may not fully resolve this season and could linger beyond 2025. Campbell noted that the team’s approach has shifted to managing the injury rather than expecting a complete disappearance. Despite that concern, Joseph has shown steady progress and has begun increasing his workload.

Joseph is expected to return to the field in a limited capacity this week, participating in individual drills and controlled movement sessions. Campbell emphasized that the safety has been “doing a little bit more” recently, signaling gradual improvement as the team continues to evaluate his readiness.

When asked about Joseph’s chances of playing Thursday, Campbell expressed cautious optimism. He said the safety is “closer than he was before” and added that the team will have a clearer assessment following its next full practice. Campbell reiterated that Joseph’s condition has improved each week.

Campbell also provided a brief update on veteran interior lineman Graham Glasgow. While he did not go into detail, the head coach confirmed that Glasgow is progressing and trending in a positive direction as Detroit continues to monitor his recovery ahead of the Cowboys matchup.
